Civil Service Bureau and the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration organized a seminar on “Transparency of Asset Declarations of Public Officials and Public Sector Open Data” under the auspices of “Eastern Partnership”, I Platform on “Democracy, Good Governance and Stability” and in the framework of the Panel on “Public Administration Reform”.

Georgia and Finland took on a leading role in this event, by sharing their experience regarding the key topics of the seminar. Namely, the Civil Service Bureau introduced the Electronic Asset Declaration System for Senior Public Officials and discussed Georgia’s experience of the publicity of senior officials’ financial disclosure. On the other hand, the representative of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia made a presentation on Proactive Disclosure of Information by Public Institutions. Furthermore, the field experts from Finland shared the Finnish experience concerning the Public Sector Open Data with the seminar participants.

The seminar was attended by the representatives of the relevant government bodies of the “Eastern Partnership” countries – Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine, as well as by the representatives of Delegation of the European Union to Georgia and the field experts from Finland.

The “Eastern Partnership” represents a collective effort of the EU member countries and the Eastern neighbors of the EU (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine). It creates additional opportunities for Georgia’s further integration into the EU and towards the enhancement of the political dialogue between the countries.
