Irakli Kotetishvili Delivered Speech at the World Bank Conference on “Increasing the Effectiveness of Disclosure Systems Through Innovation”
14 May 2013 Director of Civil Service Bureau of Georgia, Irakli Kotetishvili delivered his speech at the World Bank Conference on “Increasing the Effectiveness of Disclosure Systems through Innovation”, held in Istanbul, Turkey.
The goal of the conference was to promote knowledge-sharing on innovative practices about financial disclosure systems among practitioners from all around the world. Irakli Kotetishvili presented Public Financial Disclosure System of Georgia.
The event focused on sharing experiences and lessons learned from innovative approaches for improving the performance of disclosure systems, such as leveraging limited financial and staff resources, using technology to improve of effectiveness of disclosure systems in areas such as submission of disclosures, data management, verification, etc. Global perspectives and financial disclosure reform trends were also discussed.
The conference also promoted establishing a foundation for continued technical dialogue between practitioners and experts beyond the conference, and encouraging practitioners to use contacts established during the conference to seek consultation and support for their on-going work.
