Follow Up Of the First Asset Declarations Monitoring System Roundtable

The Civil Service Bureau of Georgia organized second roundtable discussion on “Implementing the Asset Declaration Monitoring System in Georgia”. The event was a follow-up of the roundtable discussion held on July 16, 2013.

Participants of the conference included representatives from the government of Georgia and respected experts from international and local NGOs. The participants actively discussed the asset declaration blank form and monitoring related issues.

The Director of the Civil Service Bureau of Georgia, Irakli Kotetishvili, once again emphasized the importance of developing a declaration monitoring system in Georgia. He presented the results of the roundtable held on July 16, 2013 and discussed what further steps should be taken in this regard.

The presenters also included expert from the World Bank, Laura Pop, as well as the chairman of the board of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), Levan Avalishvili, and Personal Data Inspector – Tamar Kaldani. They gave detailed analyses and practical recommendations of the current asset declaration blank forms. Significant input regarding the declaration blank was also provided from other participants.

The Civil Service Bureau continues working on the development of asset declaration monitoring system and plans to organize similar roundtable discussions in the near future.
